Life In Riverdale
Riverdale is the gateway to east Toronto neighbourhoods, and is bordered by Don Valley Parkway and the Don Valley River to the west, Bloor Street East and Greektown to the north, the railway lines and Leslieville to the east, and Lakeshore Boulevard east and the Port Lands to the south. Riverdale has a diverse community and is filled with vibrant shops and quaint Victorian homes. Although it’s in the middle of the city, this neighbourhood is blessed with an abundance of parkland and greenspace.
Schools: EAST Alternative School of Toronto, Quest Alternative Senior School, Riverdale Collegiate Institute, and Montcrest School (private) are some of the neighbourhoods best education options.
Restaurants: Riverdale Perk Cafe, 7Numbers serving Italian cuisine, Messini Authentic Gyros, Atlantis Authentic Greek Cuisine, and Greta Solomon’s for classic French fare are some of the neighbourhood favourites.
Recreation: Riverdale Park East, Withrow Park, and Jimmie Simpson Park are three of the neighbourhood’s largest parks, each with a tennis court, wading pool, ice rink, and baseball diamond. The Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre and Pape Recreational Centre are both centres of activity in the neighbourhood. Riverdale is also just minutes from Toronto’s lakeshore, and The Beaches.
