The Beaches is a lakeside neighbourhood with a laid-back vibe, and yet just minutes from the Toronto entertainment core. Enjoy year-round annual events such as the Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Festival, Jazz Festival, Arts and Crafts Show without hassle. The Beaches is located on the east side of Downtown Toronto and bounded by Lake Ontario on the south, Victoria Park Avenue on the east, Kingston Road transitioning to Eastern Avenue on the north, and Leslie Street on the west. The Upper Beaches would extend the northern border, to along the Go Transit rail north of Gerrard Street.

Schools: The Beaches neighbourhood has an extensive list of public and Catholic schools, some of which include: Malvern Collegiate Institute, Neil McNeil Catholic Secondary School, Adam Beck Junior Public School, and St. John’s Catholic School.

Restaurants: Island of Tinos Greek Cuisine, Tori’s Bakeshop, Yumei Sushi Japanese Cuisine, Zane Patisserie Boulangerie are a few local favourites.

Recreation: The Boardwalk is a great place to exercise and get fresh air. It’s also skirted by the Martin Goodman Trail spanning Toronto’s waterfront. Residents can head to Ashbridge’s Bay Park for family picnics, windsurfing, and beach volleyball, or visit the Glen Stewart Park for a picturesque ravine and nature trail. Donald Summerville Pool, Kew Gardens, Queen Street East shopping district, and beach flavour shops on Kingston Road are all featured amenities in the neighbourhood.

Getting to The Beaches by transit

Route 501 streetcars running along Queen Street East and the 502 & 503 running along Kingston Road will head to and from Downtown Toronto. Bus number 92 runs along Woodbine Avenue and the 22A runs along Coxwell Avenue from Coxwell Subway station to as far as Victoria Park Avenue through Kingston Road.
