Life In Yorkville

Upscale Yorkville is known for its collection of high-end retailers, chic restaurants, and picturesque real estate, including Victorian homes and luxurious condos. Once a hippie enclave, its artistic roots are still seen in the handful of galleries that remain. Yorkville is bordered by Bloor Street to the south, Avenue Road to the west, Davenport Road to the north and Yonge Street to the east.

Schools: Howlett Academy, The Rosedale Day School (private), and The York School, are some of Yorkville’s top educational institutes. 

Shopping: Yorkville is home to the “Mink Mile,” a strip of Bloor Street West lined with high-end designer boutiques like Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton. 

Restaurants: Sofia Restaurant & Bar offering fine Italian dining, Sassafraz serving French-inspired Canadian cuisine, Planta, an internationally-inspired vegan bistro, and STK Steakhouse are some of the neighbourhoods popular eateries. 

Recreation: Village of Yorkville Park is home to an iconic boulder from the Canadian Shield that is one billion years old. Ramsden Park features an outdoor ice rink, tennis court, and playground. Yorkville is also peppered with medi-spas, perfect for a day of pampering. The George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), and the McLaughlin Planetarium are all within walking distance of Yorkville. 

Getting to Yorkville by transit

Buses 19 and 97 take riders to this neighbourhood, as well as the UP train, Yonge-University subway line 1, and Bloor-Danforth subway line 2.
